Q-Is Refined Home Renovation Co. a "performance contractor", or a "paper contractor"?
A- We are a performance contractor. RHR performs virtually all contracted work with our own employees. When interviewing contractors, be sure to determine how much of the work will actually be subcontracted to a 3rd party.
Q-How long have you been in business?
A-Since 1998 we have been serving the lower Hudson Valley as traditional craftspersons.
Q- Is RHR insured?
A- Yes, we are fully insured. Our employees are all legal citizens, and our company is in compliance with all Labor & Tax Laws.
Q-Where are you located?
A- Our business offices are at 372 Fullerton Ave. Suite 5B, Newburgh, N.Y. 12550 You are welcome to visit, by appointment.
Q- Do you have a showroom I can visit?
A- If you would like to see the cabinets we install, we can arrange a special visit to our supplier's showrooms. At our offices, you are invited to browse a variety of cabinetry, countertop, and material samples, and we have a broad library of idea books with thousands of pictures you can review. For safety reasons, our workshop is not open to the public.
Q-Do you offer free estimates?
A- Before a project is commenced, we provide you with a clear, concise legally-enforceable proposal outlining the work to be done and our responsibilities. Although it takes considerable time to work up an honest calculation, there is no charge for this service.
Q-I need some work done, but it isn't in your services directory. Can you still help?
A-Like most General Contractors, we conduct all types of residential and light-commercial construction. The items in our service directory are the most commonly sought types of improvements. see "How to Hire a Contractor"
Q-Do you do demolition work?
A-On average-sized jobs, we do perform demolition. However, skilled surgeons are rarely called upon to change bed pans. Likewise, in large rehabilitation projects comprising 2,000 sqft. or more of demolition, it would be inappropriate and uneconomical to relegate our talented artisans to this type of work. We can help you find a demolition contractor.
Q-I looked at your map, and my home is not in the highlighted area. Does this mean you won't help me?
A-Not necessarily. Our coverage area map indicates the area that we can serve most efficiently. Our business is often equipment-intensive. To uphold our standards of quality, we require tools not commonly used by other contractors. Thus, most pieces of equipment are not available from rental outlets. There is no shortage of local contractors who will gladly serve you. In the event that a qualified local contractor cannot be found, we will consider performing the work.
