Mansard,
a type of roof having enlarged eaves.  Soffits 3 feet deep are not uncommon.
Meets and Bounds,
literal description of the perimeter of a parcel or plot of land. 
Medallion,
decorative surround on ceiling through which a chandelier is mounted. Usually circular.
Mezzanine,
an elevated platform.
Mortise,
notch cut into wood typically to accept tenons, hinges, or rectangular locksets
Mudsill,
treated wood plate along perimeter upon which house's weight bears if built without a foundation.  
Mullion,
separator between two window assemblies. Takes the meaning of "muntin" when used in skyscrapers.
Muntin,
separator between two panes of glass, traditionally wood. see also "grille"
Mural,
Decorative painting applied directly to a wall 
Muriatic acid,
a preparation of 7-8% makes a good wash for etching concrete before painting, be sure to rinse.
Newel,
central column around which a winding or circular staircase are supported; post for supporting handrail
Nosing,
curved front edge of tread.
