Rubber Roofs

    Rubber roofs represent the finest of the modern flat methods. Although not particularly attractive, rubber is the material of choice for many commercial structures for several reasons.

• flat application
• positive sealing
• compatible with board insulation
• stretches with expanding structure
• easily repaired
• clean installation
• supports pools of standing water

    There are two common types of rubber roofs, hot application, and cold application.

Hot Application (Rubberoid)

    Hot application employs the use of a torch to melt the rubber and weld the sheets together. Excellent for small applications.

Cold Application (EPDM)

    Cold application is for use over insulation board and a solvent-type rubber cement is used to glue the joints. Ultimate system for large applications.
